DD had her injection/s, she's resting and waiting for
results, DH is still working for CUSD but no longer
classified as a driver and has lost 12 yrs seniority, he is
shifting more paperwork and driving so there is no schedule
really. Thankful he has a job with the budget cuts. I just
certified Peer Support advocate through Amputee Coalition of
America and begun speaking on behalf of CAF. Using Flovent
is helping the breathing so hope to hit the track again soon
once weather clears. more soon Keep the Faith

I've been training playing and working. I've got two clinics
coming up and ACA training to enable me to do what I'm
working towards. Sharing what I've learned and encouraging
others. I felt it best to not attend the Triathlon today as
our daughter's back has her in such a state that leaving her
isn't an option. Besides, she is my support crew at these
events and It's just not the same without her sleeping in
the car next to me on the way to the start line. :)
There will be others. The job cuts in the county have hit
close to home and there is much contention now that the pink
slips have gone out at DH job. It's tight everywhere with
the cost of living skyrocketing. Keep your head about you
and remember, no matter how big the discount, if you really
don't need it you didn't save a penny!

Ok, it was wet yesterday. Not just a little rain but
downpour through out the entire 1/2 marathon bike ride I did
! Wind gusts to 35mph and we were along the coast so it was
pretty rough. I had rain gear which helped to a point but
eventually, I was soaked. I rode my fastest time of 1:19:00
in the mess and had a blast despite the conditions. I'm
waiting for the photos to be posted at brightshots. One
thing I must remember is to put my timing chip on my shoe
before I head to the course start. ;D I forgot mine in the
truck, but I know my time when I came in as I asked the lady
who gave me my medal for finishing. Cool medals too ! wood
surfboard with metal emblem attached. I wasn't sore just
cold really. Found new gizmo that will assist my arms
with riding check out zglove.com I can see a LOT of uses for
these things besides sports. great for arm fatigue and they
make them for legs too :) Im off to train, I've got my
first full marathon coming up and I want to be ready :)

Happy New Year and what a month ! Travel, illness, holiday
stress and celebrations all came into play this year. My
computer lost a lot of files and has been doing rebuild and
rescue. New plans for the new year are in order. I completed
the 1/2 marathon and was so glad to cross the finish line !
It was wet, cold and getting a flat was a hassle as the
handbikes went first and I waited for the main field of
runners to pass before I rejoined them. Shooting the hills
is always fun but the mud in my face left a bit to be
desired. LOL I'm working out most days and keeping
busy with assisting in the planning committee for a 5/10k
fun run. This past year has brought much change and
challenge and am thankful for rising to meet each one. DD is
national/state certified and making strides by leaps and
bounds. DH is still shaking out the cobwebs from the newly
created job position entering his 2nd year as lead. DDog has
learned that if she chases ducks she has a better chance at
a long chase as it takes them longer to get off the ground
:) LOL she had a blast on our last vacation chasing the
ducks around the ponds ! Silly but lovable! Next event is
Super bowl Sunday and look forward to sharing the road to
raise money for Run for Mobility*. Keep the Faith :)

I got nailed hard by allergies and was not able to
participate in the Triathlon. Allergies forced me to
withdraw and return home in the wee early morning hours on
Sunday. The stomach pain is abating and Ive signed up for
another 1/2 marathon. The weather has been wild and today it
was so clear that San Clemente Island was visible without
the inversion layer that often accompanies mild off shore
winds. I am keeping everyone in thought and prayer through
this difficult time while troops are deployed far from home.
Time to rest and recoup. more soon ... bless

We headed for the event at 4:40 am and chatted and laughed
all the way to Coronado and the starting line for the Silver
Strand Half Marathon. I completed a 1/2 marathon hand bike ride
with Beth, and Sachi, Brandy, Andrea and Kathy did the run.
DD and DH had auto detail and bags because this was a one
way race down Hwy 75. They blocked the road south for the
entire route. It was great :) It started out very cold and
the bike path is nothing like the road. More hills to crest
and longer pulls. I completed in 1:30.00 My speed was down a
bit but my goal was to ride and have fun. That I did and I
completed. I'm ready to do it again and have plenty of
training ahead of me as I prepare for my first mini
triathlon. The goal has been reached and a new one set. I'm
having a blast and meeting people. Life is Sweet :) Web shots

Due to the fires and the loss many have painfully
experienced through out the San Diego county, the CAF event
staff have arrived at the difficult decision to cancel the
events planned for this weekend in La Jolla. The fundraising
is on going and been extended to Nov 14. Much of the
mail has been delayed and many are still in a state of shock
as CAF offices and warehouse suffered a fire not 3 weeks ago themselves and now
the entire southern portion of the state has been affected
in some way by the recent week long firestorms. I'm
continuing training as I have a 1/2 marathon ride in two weeks
time. I'm not sure of the details just yet but CAF will have some kind of
follow up and are by no means out of the race. for

Yesterday the Pier Gang tried to swim the course in La Jolla
but the surf was too strong. We waited and rechecked but it
just was too risky to enter. The winds continued to pick up
and on the way home we passed through a valley that the temp
jumped to 81 degrees and was blowing thick amount of sand.
The freaky part was after 15 mins we were through the mess
and the temp dropped 14 degrees and visibility was
clear as a bell !! We opted to head home and swim to seal
rock but that didn't work out either. I tried twice to enter
the surf but it was too much and my stump got smacked when
my fin was pulled off. All is well, and none of us
made it past the surf line ! By the time we got back
from attempting the Seal Rock swim, the winds had increased
in our area and we decided we better head home. I've been
picked up by another team to do the wheelie hand bike course
which is 8.2 miles along eh coast of La Jolla... A very busy
week ahead and looking forward to the Challenge next Sunday.
Oct 11
Yes, I'm still here :) Training, in between, taking
care of injured/ill family members and keeping things
running. I got smacked by a dog and it bent my rim which
needs replacing. I've been kayaking, riding, swimming and
thinking about sailing. DD passed her national boards and is
doing better with PT as ordered, DH is recovered from his
emergency surgery and back to work, DDog chases bunnies when
able and I'm keeping up and getting new specs today. Clear
vision always helps :) More soon :) promise
July 13
My Sunflowers grown from seeds a friend sent me are starting
to bloom :) I rode 13 miles and swam laps 40 mins yesterday
and still had energy left ! ok, some. I find out if my test
fitting for my socket is today. My socket has been cracked
and needed fixing. The crack has been repaired for now. He
took fiberglass casting material and wrapped the area
needing repair. Thus far, it's holding and fits great. DD
has applied for her boards and DH is working his first full
summer. Right now he's typing in the data for each of the
over 800 routes in the school district. keep the faith and
thank a soldier ! bless
July 11
We just got back from a turnaround trip to Az for Auntie's
back surgery. The procedure went smoothly and she is home
recovering now. The surgeon said all went well and she
should have a good recovery. The weather on the other hand
was not the best. A heat wave was baking the area in temps
of 117 near Prescott !! Friday morning we headed to
Flagstaff early to get in a short bike ride while the temps
were still low in the high desert. We rode at Lake Mary for
5 miles and in that time the temp went up 12 degrees !! By
the time we got to Flagstaff hospital (5 mins from the lake)
the clouds had begun moving in and the winds were really
picking up. It appears a monsoon had moved in from the Gulf
Coast and we were about to get smacked. While we waited for
Auntie to come out of surgery, we witnessed heavy
lightening, which my stump felt, and rain downpours that had
the rain gutters shooting water over 5 ft to the curb with
great force as it ran off! When the zingers from the
lightening got so strong it was causing cramps in my stump I
moved indoors. Then the hail started !! Talk about extremes!
We went from 112 coming across the desert floor in Indio,
Thurs at 10:30 am to 127 in Cottonwood Az at 3pm. We came
back home at night because the heat was just too much, even
still the temp at 11:00pm was 113 when we stopped to gas up
in Blythe !! I've been in heat before, but with my
prostheses it's a whole different story. I couldn't suck
down enough fluids or get enough cool rinses with water to
beat the heat. There was no getting comfortable so when we
knew Auntie was A OK we headed home. smiles E'

I'm in training folks so I'm not online much these days.
Hand bike 13.5 miles, ocean swim 1/2mile was completed this
week in same day. Helping DD along with her injured sciatic
nerve and the pool is helping her wonders. Thanks Bruce :))
I give thanks for the decisions and changes I've made and
look to continuing to reap the rewards of my labors. The
Sunflowers seeds have taken root and are growing swiftly now
as they reach for the sun each day. Two of them are going to
be huge from looks of it. We are excited and enjoying
watching their progress. Thank you Micki for the gift of the
seeds :) I'm off for a bone scan and then a dip.

My response to Larry King
re: Hilton ordeal or anyone who feels the law does not apply
to them
I would like to state that if Paris thinks being locked
up for the laws she broke were traumatizing. She ought to
try signing papers to have your leg amputated because of
injuries sustained in a collision with a drunk driver.
Reality check please Try walking out your front door
knowing full well the overall practice by our society to
imbibe, and drive and I'm supposed to feel safe?? Talk about
PANIC when I open my front door !!
On one hand, I feel for her plight because what was done in
the media and court was a JOKE, on the other hand I don't
know whether to fling my prosthetic foot at the TV or throw
up !!

The bike is on order and yesterday was the 19th year since
this path started. I spoke at a local Amputee Support group
about myself and how CAF has helped me. I didnt know it, but
a rep was there to tape me. I stepped through a new door
that was opened. Time will tell what is to come of it and
where it will lead but anew turn has been taken. :) We had
lunch out then spent the rest of the day sharing each others
company and laughing. I met some lovely people and a couple
real characters :) Im ready to go play so I'm off.

We are back from a wonderful vacation to the High Desert.
This is the first vacation I've not gotten sick and had to
stay in the room at some point. Yeah !! Recharge those
batteries :) The body has adjusted being off the recalled
med Zelnorm and is working just fine. It appears my small
intestine has not only had enough time to heal but is
working fine. No stomach attacks or need for meds !! I've
received a generous grant from CAF towards the purchase of a
hand bike and am currently awaiting delivery :)
Our prayers and thoughts are
with ALL the families and students at VT.
March 30
So I've been getting holes filled in my teeth, walking,
reading, dealing with new construction at our next door
neighbors, and getting ready to see my first California Ironman in
Oceanside. I can't wait to get back in the water but the
ocean temps have been hard on me this season. I want to
thank all those who have supported and encouraged me to open
up and share my story. I have been asked by CAF to represent
them as a speaker to other amputees !! I'm working on my
outline because I don't want to get off track being
distracted. My first event is planned for April 28 !!
Yes, what a better way to celebrate being alive then sharing
my experiences and how CAF gave me what I needed to further
help myself. We had server problems and had to
shut down for a bit but we are up and running at full speed
with less problems with the changes. The webcam needs
replacement and that too will be addressed soon. Life is
Good, Share it !!

Dec 21
The cold water gear works great and we had a wonderful swim
this morning. It was clear and crisp with great
visibility. We swam the length of the pier and I had no problem finding DH
with his brilliant colored wetsuit. Time is near for the
holiday celebration and all things are being made ready
across the world of believers of one faith or another. No
matter what you do or don't practice or believe... I wish
you Peace
Dec 17
I know it's been a while but I needed a break in many ways
and none of them that would affect my height :) The extra
pieces for added warmth have been made and I'll be able to
cold weather swim a bit more often now. DD had her last 2
wisdom teeth out and is nearly recovered. DH is working too
hard and chasing his tail so to speak. DDog has been dealing
with the cold and has a new shirt to wear to keep her a bit
warmer on outings. Her stump gets cold quick and we've
learned it bothers her. The house is decorated and the tree
turned out lovely. We've had 1 neighbor move and another
pass away in his driveway. May the Truth shine within your
heart every day and bring light to another's life.
Nov 26
I admit, I've been in a funk. Being in such a large
accepting, supportive group is a great high but after it was
followed by an unexpected low. I've worked through it.
We went to the annual Santa visit here in town but didn't
stay. Main street was completely blocked off for a change
and added improvement, we decided to leave when we saw that
Santa would no longer arrive in his big shiny red fire
truck, no, now he would arrive in a carriage drawn by two
white horses that looked like something Cinderella or Barbie
stepped out of !! It just didn't' work for us... This year
is the first time in longer than I can remember I fixed an
entire Turkey meal. It wasn't just the holiday but the fact
that I was physically able to make the meal without giving
out from pain !!! I still had more energy left after two
days of prep and cooking. Enough to make sure my neighbor
had fresh blueberry muffins to enjoy :) We're off to
play bless
Nov 22
Ive taken my break and recovered from the Tri swim. It was
my first and considering I had such short notice I did
swimmingly as far as I'm concerned !! I will be back at it
again and with the purpose and intent of reaching my goal of
45 min. That would beat my best time in a pool with two feet
:) I'm ready for that next challenge ! We've been preparing
our menu for a Thanksgiving dinner. While the gang works
today I'll be brining the 17 lb bird for 12 hrs, making
gluten free corn bread for stuffing, baking gluten free mini
brownies for the dessert and doing general prep to cut down
work tomorrow. I'll be cooking my bird on the Weber which
I've done for over 20 yrs. All these little traditions and
attention to details never loosing sight of the gift and
thanks for all the blessings big and small. There will be 2
extra dining with us this year and there is always a place
set for those who might drop in, those who can't be with us
and those who are no longer with us. It's not about the
food, who didn't help with what, who was late or if the
rolls are burned. It's not about any of that, it's about
giving thanks for being. . .
Nov 19
Don't blink it's nearly Christmas and you may miss it ! What
can I say other than we've been getting things in order that
needed attention and preparing for the fast approaching
Thanksgiving holiday. Swimming is in order for the day as
the temps are in the 80s here and it's clear and DH has the
day off :) The formal thank you notes were put together and
sent out which included a special limited photo. I hope you
don't lose sight of giving Thanks at your table this year no
matter where you are. Many wont have the blessings to share
this year and are in great need. Do reach out to others and
extend a helping hand. bless
Nov 8
No, I've not been ignoring you, I've been busy healing from
knee injury, trying to final prep for Tri swim and then
doing it for real. I can't begin to tell you the amount of
energy in that water Sunday morning but hopefully pictures
share a glimpse of the joy and fun. I had issues with
my leg and couldn't Spin as long as I would have liked but
DH was ready to take up my slack as we knew this might
happen. I had not planned on entering the swim this year so
saying I had short notice would be putting it mildly. DH
said by the time stamp on the camera I did the 1.2 miles in
52 minutes. My official score will reflect not only the swim
but how long it took me to crutch up the 4 flights of wet
sandy stairs and across the finish line for me. I'll should
know that time later today. I was watching were I was going
not the score board crutching the finish line. official time
was posted 0:54:48
I finished that's all I could ask for :))) Low light,
someone had a heart attack in the water and I threw up.
Highlight, I did what I set out to do. I knew I could do
the swim it was just a matter of getting in and doing it.
The crutches up 4 flights of wet sandy stairs without
falling to cross the finish line was a bigger deal than
the swim let alone to do both. I had a bad fall just 3
weeks before the event that set back my training. I can
see where I can improve and I see how far I can go in such
a short time. I only just got back in a pool in mid June
and back in the ocean Mid sept. so to do this event so
soon after.. I can say WOW !!
I had groups of girls coming up to me for photos to use
for a project at a nearby school required by a history
teacher who was in the event. I asked them why they said I
was an inspiration because that hasn't been in my
vocabulary of late in describing myself. One replied,
"Because you are out here doing something not sitting at
home." I said I'll take that !! I guess I have to work on
expanding my vocabulary. Brandi got the opportunity to
lick Robin Williams's leg again and he even remembered her
!! I introduced myself to a Marine who is double below
knee amp recently returned Stateside. He was just new to
his legs and is still in rehab. He was brought out by CAF
to see the event and what is waiting for him. I told him
to get all he can now because it's not the same for the
civilians. I also gave him my Team SCOPe cap as he said
his coach wants him to swim or run next year. I said The
cap is a Challenge. I expect to see you back here next
year which he accepted with a smile. The feeling was
beyond words when I switched to backstroke at the start so
I could look back at the cove which was lined thickly with
people !! That was a sight. The encouragement I soak in
and I know is there to draw on through out the year. I'll
do it again :)
I'm sure there is more but honestly my head is still
swimming :) oh yeah and I lost 5lbs

DD had her stubborn wisdom tooth removed by the oral surgeon
yesterday morning. After 6 shots by the dentist the day
before when it became clear that she was going to have to be
put to sleep, as the root would not cooperate. I completed
painting 2 school bus birdhouses to sell in benefit of CAF.
Both are already sold and I have one more to complete. I am
going to locate more of them to today or an alternate style
I can use for the design. Many ideas for the day and Im off
to put them to work ! bless

Happy Birthday DH !!
The swim at the shores on Sunday was wonderful. The water
was so clear I took the time to dip my head and search the
bottom as we swam back in. Saw plenty of seals and lots of
surfers as there was a competition going on, along with the
diver and kayak classes. The water was full. What we really
liked was as we swam along the 1.25 miles we would pass
other swimmers and share a good morning greeting and wave to
each other. Often when we swim we are the only ones out
there. Not having to watch for water craft was very nice as
it is restricted area. In a few days we'll make the drive to
the Cove to take a swim around the course before the event
in 25 days. DD is having her tooth out this morning and the
frig is being replaced today because of blowing the motor.
Yes, it was a bit tired but it served us well. Dh and Ddog
are out rabbit hunting and all is quiet before the start of
the day.
Thank you again to Rip Curl for the donation of the swim boot !!
Oct 5
I want to say Thank you, for every single penny donated for
purchasing limbs and needed equipment for others... First
and foremost it's about giving of myself in every way since
this is something I live with myself. I don't require a hand
bike which cost 2,000.00 or a running leg for 30,000.00 and
know how it can help another have what they need to go out
and play. DD has another infected wisdom tooth and is on
meds to clear infection before the dentist can remove it. DH
is working the new hours which change often but that's
nothing new :) DDog is going for a bunny hunt this morning
and Im off to test the wetsuit fixes. bless
Oct 3
We had a seal swimming near us yesterday as well as some
very BIG fish, maybe bass. Who knows but DH said there was
one near us just offshore. No biggie is my feeling. We're
just sharing the deep end :) The seal was neat though as it
was passing by on its way to Seal Rock. The article ran but
sadly, the link was wrong and I've not seen any sponsors
from it. I need more adjustments to my wetsuit as
it seems Im losing inches. This will make the 2nd time. ) Im so thankful to
be LIVING! bless
Sept 29
Yesterday was fun filled and loaded with sentiment. The swim
was perfect as the fog layer cleared out long enough to do
an early ocean swim then moved back in engulfing the
coastline not long after returning home! Knowing the piano
is in a place where lots of children will get to learn to
use and enjoy the experience is of great comfort. I had my
15 seconds of fame as the reporter ran the article on me in
the Sun Post. Must of been a slow news day I told my DH as I
was on the front page :)) btw Happy Birthday again Andrew
:)) blessings all Im off to the pool soon.
Sept 27
Lot of work and important issues where seen through to
fruition yesterday. The Piano has been delivered to the
special needs school for them to begin new program with! DH
has contacted many people asking for support via
donor/sponsors. Sun/OC Register met with us yesterday for an
interview and took photographs for a possible story. I'm
waiting to see what if anything comes of it. You never know
what they are going to come up with from the words you
offer. In either case the reporter and photographer were
very nice and walked the pier waiting for me to complete a
short lap. I went to the end and back, 1/2 mile in 22 mins.
Nice workout!! I'm ready for the Tri, the hard part
came long ago getting back in the pool then working up to
1hr sessions. From there swimming in the ocean again was
just a matter of time. I need some fine tuning of my stroke
and adjustment to the wetsuit but overall, things are pretty
well in order. Just a matter of doing what I know and
staying with it, having Fun...
Sept 23
A slot has opened for a swimmer on a Team in the upcoming
San Diego Triathlon Challenge and I've accepted the
position! I can already swim the required distance of 1.2
miles it is just a matter of honing my stroke and getting in
the water. It started as a dream looking out my window
watching the seals and hoping to get back in the water to
swim out and watch them up close. Once past the obstacles I
faced including those of my own making, I was off and
kicking. I haven't looked back except to notice and rejoice
in how far I've come. All I know is that Life is sweet in
it's rewards and I'm reaping what I've sowed. bless
Sept 18
A vote was taken and the Yeas have it ! We were talking of
having a Full Moon swim more than 1x a year weather
permitting :) I'm signed up for the SDTC swim and have been
training when I can get in the water. Keeping busy with
errands and issues that pop up that life tosses in your path
has us all on our toes. DD is working towards being
certified as pharmacology tech and DH is finding that much
hasn't changed at work even if his job title has ... We're
in the process of raising funds to help others in great need
of limbs and equipment to live more active and rewarding
lives. I hope you click the link above to donate and show
your support for my goals and efforts. curtsy
Sept 9
What a wonderful night for a swim :) A group met and suited
up, paired up, and lit up and hit the water for a full moon
swim. Challenged swimmers had 2 buddies each so my tail was
covered. Only problem was that I got through a big wave set
and my partners, both on boards, did not ! Dh lost a fin and
Mark the organizer my other buddy got nailed. Rules are you
have to stay with your buddies so I was hanging out just
outside the breakers while they both tried to recover and
make it back in. By the time they made it out to where I was
the main group were well ahead of us. It was overcast due to
the marine layer but the water was a warm 70 degrees :) We
all gave a great cheer then after a name check at the end of
the Pier. We came in much easier between sets and I made a
swift transition to crutches coming out. I had a guy under
each arm making sure I remained upright while DH retrieved
my crutches. They were more nervous than I was and a bit
protective. :) Once I had the crutches in hand I was
motoring through the soft sand to our benches where we were
gathered. Both the assistants noted I knew what I was doing
and eased back as I progressed. We shared more
congratulations for everyone doing and that we all made it
back with no problems. We numbered 18 in all. Hot cocoa and
cup of noodles were offered as a warmer while we dried off
and took a couple group shots. It was a great swim and
evening under a full moon even if we couldn't see it :)
Sept 6
I'm in training of a different kind now. I'm entering to
Swim the Cove and ride a bike for 2hrs !!
Sept 4
I was laughing and told DH, at this time last year you couldn't get me off
the road bike, this year you can't keep me out of the water.
We headed down to the beach and ran into Richard and Mary
who were also getting a late start :) We hit the water
together and swam out 1/4 mile and visited and enjoyed the
movement of the water. A crazed guy on a water bike who came
too close for any comfort crossed our paths sadly. We were
waving our arms, splashing to make ourselves seen and
yelling at him through cupped hands to GET OUT OF HERE ! He
was in swimming area and headed right at us ! The guy was
hot dogging and clearly did not know how to ride the thing
except at full throttle. We watched as he nearly dumped it
into the surf a couple times. He finally spotted us, slowed
down to listen and once he got the point, turned around and
headed back to open water. Tip: when in open waters,
if you hear engines, splash big and make yourself seen by
doing so, it alerts them to someone in the water, also
always wear a bright colored cap like red, yellow or bright
pink. You are spotted easier that way. Could save your life,
Richard was run over by one of those things and is very
fortunate to still be with us...curtsy
Sept 3
Happy Labor Day Weekend folks ! I had a most Exciting day
yesterday. I went for my first swim to San Mateo Rock where
all the seals hang out ! I can't believe how big some of
those bull seals are. There were seals covering the rock so
we kept our distance as not to disturb them. They did talk
to us and and a few kept their eye on us. I've wished for
years to be able to swim out to watch the seals and it was
breathtaking to see them in their natural setting. It was a
long swim certainly and I got sick to my stomach from
ingesting a bit too much sea water near the end. The swim took 90 minutes total and made the
rest of the day to pass with a big smile on my face. I still
have the need to test my limits but know some things are
best worked towards rather then jumping in without a net. I
worked steadily to reach this goal and it was well worth the
effort, wait and frustration when it appeared it would not
come to fruition. Getting over being in public without my
leg covered and knowing the looks that come with that,
getting the strength and confidence back in my swimming
abilities and learn how to adapt and then putting in the
time to build the foundation to reach my goal. I've
done my Open water swim of 1.3 miles, now to get my time
down :) I love a goal ... LOL curtsy Now,
how has my DH been clocking my distance in the open water?
He has taken his GPS device, placed it in a ziploc bag then
put in on his head under his swim cap. It worked !! We have
my track of the big swim yesterday. PICTURES posted.
Aug 30
Check out Horizon wetsuits for all your water protection
needs. I just got a custom fitted red and black full wet
suit to enable me to do open water swimming. Today for the
first time as an amputee I entered the ocean and swam the
full length of the SC pier and a bit more past it. I can see
that goal of the Open water swim for the fundraiser next
year clearly in my sights now. How Wonderful and freeing it
was to be in the Pacific Ocean swimming again :))) Dh
was with me to handle the crutches once I was in and get
them for me when I was ready to get out. What a lovely day
!! Pictures soon !!
Aug 23
DH has been off work while school is still out here. We've
been doing a lot of yard and house work but there is still
much to be done in the office and DD room. I've been keeping
up on exercise and getting ready for the Tour de Cove
benefit ride. Leg is holding steady and Im going strong :)
Im ready for my Open water swim and will be taking my first
dip tomorrow morning. I feel its going to be the best way
for me to reach some goals I have in mind. Get used to being
in the Ocean then build from there. My thinking is this. 1
for swimming enjoyment and health it will be great to get
back in the ocean. I used to body surf a LOT as a teen. By
building water safety first I can then participate in other
sports like kayaking and the such without having question as
to my ability of swimming. Just doing the building blocks to
assure success and fewer setbacks due to rushing in
unprepared and untrained. That's how I do things. Build your
foundation and know your tools and abilities and adapt and
learn more as you go. One thing is for certain, My trying is
doing... When I say I'll Try, that means I'm going to keep
working at it till I get it but it's not going to be fast or
done your way. DP is out chasing rabbits right now and
I know smiling big as can be while dashing through the park
with DH in tow. She knows very clearly the difference
in walking with either one of us and I demonstrated it to DH
the other morning. I've not walked her in a while and I took
the lead and off we went. The more she is with us the more
she fills our hearts and home. We hope she is happy and
content here with us as we certainly are for having her !!!
Aug 11
What a wonderful break visiting the folks and just relaxing.
It was my first trip since the chop and I drove the entire
way. Not planned but good to know I wasn't bothered by leg
pain for once. We drove back Hwy 1 and it was so quiet and
the view beautiful all the way down the California coastline
from San Francisco. Next trip is going to be to the Redwoods
to hug some trees :). DH got the job and was notified
while we were away. He's Lead Driver along with 4 others
which will begin at the end of the month. I've been playing
in the garden and cleaning up around the grounds giving
everything a much needed trim. I've been putting all the
plants DD got while sick into a vertical split half barrel
and I installed a water feature that uses a pitcher she made
me with Sunflowers on it. Turned out very cute if I must say
so. The rare palm is recovered from it's scale attack and
doing wonderful in its new home, the epi from Archie is no
longer red from sunburn, but a lovely green and I'm sure
going to have big pink blooms this year. We've been moving
office/bedrooms around and cleaning things out and moving DH
computer to the new office as he will have more need of the
space with this job change. I'm off to see the Wizard and
take a dip. keep the faith ;)
July 29
DD has her wheels back. We think there must of been a great
deal of problems with the owner of the SUV because the Apt.
people have been thanking us profusely and doing all they
can to get the repairs done and pay for the car damages
without insurance companies getting involved. DH 2nd
interview was a boon and we have good feelings about his
chances of being hired for the position. We'll know in a
couple days. DDog is dong very well and we are keeping her
cool with this heat we are still having. They say it will
ease but not if the humidity doesn't come down. I spent time
at RW's while he adjusted my bike foot to enable better
walking, repaired protective cover, tried a repair on holes
in sleeve, increased pad in the insert for better suspension
in the socket, test fitted new sleeves and confirm I'm in a
medium now, gave me sew on velcro for me to fix my sandals
and shared how the swimming was having obvious results as my
gait has smoothed out further :) I told him if DH job
improves our insurance situation I will be keeping him. I've
not even filled out the papers for Hangar, nothing personal.
But if it's not broke, DON"T BREAK IT ! We work well
together and he understands me and my needs. It's like I
tell him, He's ok for a Boy, I think I'll keep him for now
:). I'm hoping to have a wet suit soon to start ocean
training. I can say this much, this is the best I've felt
and more like "Me" since the crash. I'll say it again, don't
live with intractable pain if you don't have to. Get help. .
. Keep the Faith
July 26
I've been putting it out there I needed assistance If I was
to reach my next level and answers have been forthcoming ! I
met Beth Sanden who is a SCI patient and lives locally that
does open water ocean swimming. DD car is to be completed
repairs today but there is a twist, of coarse. The Apts
where this happened is paying the cost and they told us they
are not going to cut a check for another 2 weeks !!! Clearly
this is not going to work and we have been working on other
arrangements to get the car without having to wait on the
Apts. In the meantime we are shuffling her to work and back.
DH has 2nd interview tomorrow, finally and hope to hear not
long after on the position. We've been getting DDog out for
her bunny hunts before light as to keep her exercised but
not outdone by this nasty heat. We hit 92 here the other
day, that's HOT for the coast. We cooled down yesterday here
as there cloud cover and a strong breeze off the water. I've
sprung a leak in my sleeve and am using a back up. I've got
some on order but not sure on the sizing as I've shrunk
more. I'll see RW and have it all checked out. I'm off to
the pool. :)
July 22
Hot enough for you? We are having a long heat wave here in
So Cal and it can be downright stifling with the humidity.
DDog is out chasing bunnies while it's cool. We've learned
that she loves chasing bunnies around the parking lot while
standing on the dash board of the car just as much :) If
only she could drive ! DD car is still in the shop and we
hope will completed by mid week. The hood they ordered was
damaged and still waiting on the front bumper. DH has
a 2nd interview for the position next week. The first
interview was before a 4 person panel which lasted 15
minutes of 'what would you do scenario' type questions. This
interview will be mono y mono with the big boss. I'm
still swimming, lost 8 lbs and toned up, balance is great
and gait has improved. I'm also in training for the annual
Tour de Cove spin a thon in which I'll be riding for 3 hrs.
Be good to yourselves, a lot going on in the world around us
that we tend to ignore or overlook.
The Nearest Helping Hand is at the End
of Your Own Arm, Reach Out !
July 18
Ok, I must be getting too much chlorine from swimming or
I've lost what little mind I had to start with. Reason you
ask for this line of thinking ? I've got it in my craw now
that If I'm going to be able to get to swim that 1.2 mile
distance is to start my own triathlon team !!! While
we sat down to dinner I put it to the family before I
realized it had even come out of my mouth. In the back of my
mind I was hearing something of the sort to, You're Nuts
Lady to 'what were you thinkin' in my best Jeff Foxworthy
voice. Yes, just what are you thinking of doing here ? What
I do best, setting forth challenges I know I can reach, help
raise money for others that need limbs and keep living and
loving :) I've not heard from my CAF mentor since well
over a year ago and have had no reply to email, have not
been getting feed back but I'm not letting that detour nor
dissuade me. Learning to swim without injury to my already
strained shoulder required me changing my stroke and I
improved quickly. I figured that one on my own as well as
most all obstacles I've faced. I'm not going to do anything
to injure myself and make sure I'm often in better position
to perform because of the experience and value of preparing
that I've applied through out my life.
I'm off to see the Wizard...
the chiro :) bless
July 10
My gosh, lots of hurdles being overcome and growing by leaps
and bounds. Swimming daily for an hour, DH waiting for an
interview to be a lead driver, DD's back to work but her car
took some heavy damage this weekend when a rotted pine tree
branch broke loose and fell. It totaled the SUV parked next
to her, the hood, roof, front side panels and window need
replacement, repair and paint. We are so thankful she was
not in the car !!
June 27
Dove right in and kept on going :D... I'm up to 26 round
trip laps in the pool, just short of the 33 needed to
complete 1 mile. You got it. I'm still a guppy !! I may of
had one of my rudders removed but this gal can still make a
wake. One thing at a time as I look into a wet suit to begin
ocean swimming and wave ski riding :) DD is healed up
and returned to work duty, DH is awaiting an interview for a
new position, DDog is her loving self and I'm dancing as
fast as I can and loving every minute. blessings
June 20
I worked through fear and dove right in. It wasn't the water
that was the problem but being in public without a leg. My
form was good and no, I didn't swim in circles lol... I did
pull to the left a bit in the back stroke but otherwise the
coach said I'm more than capable to begin a swim program. I
swam 8 laps Saturday, I used to swim a mile and I will work
up to it again. I really enjoyed the pool after a long hot
day, it felt great :) I've already checked into the local
pool schedule and have a plan to follow. The one I had in
college was very effective in conditioning and I'm going to
employ the same methods now. Its good to be back in the
water :)
Keep the Faith
June 11
Cleaning things out and making room for new Life to enter in
can be breathtaking. DD is healing up and the left muscle
wall is no longer hurting where they punched through. She is
anxious to return to work but requires clearance from her
surgeon. DH bid on a summer school route and awaits the
posting of a position being created, Actually voted on for
approval by the school board tomorrow. It would be a
wonderful opportunity in many ways but will see what
happens. I've got my swim suit ready to get back in the
water and adapt to the change. I want to kayak ocean waves
so I've got some work to do. My new
Vulcan palm is doing peachy now that I've treated
it for scale. The succulents have all bloomed and recovered
swiftly from the repotting. No telling what today will bring
we'll have to see won't we :)
June 4
DDog has healed and is back chasing rabbits :) DD has had
her check up and is well on road to full recovery... phew !
DH is dealing with end of the school year issues and getting
ready for the summer school program that begins shortly
after the reg. school year dismissal. I'm back to walking or
bike riding everyday and my days are much longer than ever
before. This will be my first summer in this style of sleeve
to keep my foot on. It gets very hot to say the least but
I'll learn to work with it. This morning with did a bike
ride by horse stables and Brandi went nuts with all the new
scents :) We got out very early to beat the blazing weather
we have. We had a lot of fun at the cactus show in San Diego
and I have a new 'baby' in my palm collection. Little did I
know my selection was of a rare endangered variety from
Hawaii !! It's endangered due to the moth that aides in
pollination is extinct. I'll post more info on it later,
time to rest a bit blessings
May 26
Life is moving right along, DDog has sprained her remaining
front paw (toe) while chasing a squirrel with DH, but is
recovering with the help of TLC after careful examination by
Dr. Steve. DD is recovering at home as quiet and comfy as
possible after her appendectomy. We must make a sight, me
helping her get up and all :) How am I? Im running on 'Mom
Fuel' and we know what that means :) yes, tired and keep on
going. So here is a giggle, she is laying in pre op and two
Male residents come in to assist and evaluate her before
they take her in, what did they assist her in you ask?
putting on the leg devices used to keep blood moving in
legs. They told her to relax they would do the work. I
said Right, two strange men are taking a hold of each leg
and strapping something on to them from ankle to mid thigh.
You are in a hospital gown, Yes, dear you just relax. They
laughed and DD said No Joke ! One wrong move and I knew she
was going to slap them. LOL I've not ridden in two days but
I have to conserve and use energy elsewhere right now.
blessings and Thank you to all our gave their lives for
their love of country and devotion of belief, Happy Memorial
Weekend
May 16
Don't blink or you'll miss it ! No really, things seem to
fly by while your busy living don't they? I just received my
first
phalanopsis type orchid for Mother's Day along with books
and lots of love. DD has her surgery the 24th at 8:30am...
finally! Her labs were clear and her kidneys appear to have
no long term damage from the flagyl. Today is just as grey
as the past weeks have been in terms of the weather along
the coast here. I has burned off a couple times but not
fully. Inland on the other hand is blazing sunshine and
warmth. Summer is just around the corner so this is typical
for us. I've got a small adjustment being made to my socket
today so I'll enjoy seeing RW and giving him a hard time. .
. :) it's been a while. LOL I've been working on
switching the office/dd rooms around. Boy what a mess but
it's getting there. In the meantime I've got a bike calling
my name so I best get moving here. Read you later :)

May 7
The motherboard and cpu were covered under warrantee so the
computer is back and working fine. DD sees two Dr's for re
check soon and is doing ok at this point. Still tires easily
but certainly doing so much better and regaining strength
slowly. DH is taking the dog for a rabbit run as I type. She
is in the catch and release program. :) She loves the chase.
She caught one once and when she took it in her mouth, it
squeaked upon which she immediately released it and gave it
a lick. The rabbit just panted at her feet until it felt
renewed enough to run again upon which she took up the
chase. I Love my Dog :) My Orchid cactus is ready to bloom
and has 11 blossoms this year! Usually I've had only one but
since I changed the type of planter it's gone nuts :))
April 30
She's HOME ! Her kidneys are working removing toxins
now that she was taken off the flagyl ! From our research
she was overdosed on flagyl coupled with the 2 ct scans
which can cause renal insufficiency as well. She is sucking
down fluids, ate some soup and pudding yesterday, snuggled
and relaxed. Her broken blood vessels in her eye are
clearing up. She had a circle the size of a pea of broken
vessels from throwing up so hard. This poor kid has been
through the ringer to say the least. All I know is, she is
home with us and I feel like I can breath again. this has
been a heck of a month...
April 28
Happy Life Celebration Day to ME !! I'm 18 today folks !
Yes, 18 years ago today I was nearly killed and very thankful to be ALIVE!
I may have 1 foot in the grave, but the rest of me is ALL
LIVE :)~
Now, DD has been very ill of
late and I had to take her to the ER and she was admitted
with renal failure and appendicitis, yesterday morning.
Renal failure is believed related to all the vomiting she
has been going through because of the antibiotics they have
her on to clear the infection. She's become allergic to
Flagyl... We had plans to get massages, see a movie and
share a meal, just be together today.. That is still the
plan just where it will take place has changed, her hospital
room. We'll watch a movie, rub her back, hold her hand, make
her laugh a bit and just be together... Currently her meals
are limited due to the IV. Yes, she is back to nothing by
mouth as she couldn't keep water down. I'm off to ride away
some stress and then head up to spend the day with DD...
Please remember, life is
precious !
April 20
What a week ! DD keeps dealing with appendicitis attacks and has
been back to the ER x2. The surgeon is on vacation and has
her file on top of his desk for his attention upon return.
In the meantime, another infection has festered and she was
placed on antibiotics yet again. As for me, the socket is
working out better, finally. Clearly the sleeve method works
best for me at this point. I'm averaging 12 hr days and bike
riding daily and doing lights weights every other day.. The hummingbird babies have both
moved on but we know they will be back as long as we keep
the food source out. Hummingbirds have a great memory for
the location of a reliable food source. We've also had
bunnies on the hill, but we're not feeding them, they are
enjoying the natural grasses and seeds growing. Its fun to
watch them play tag but it doesn't take much to spook them
and off they scamper to their protective holes. Time to get
moving break time over :)
April 13
What a lovely time the family shared celebrating our
Anniversary. I've got two left feet but adjustments are
needed so I can wear them without risk of injury. The one
set up needs hardware added
to allow for proper alignment with the foot to protect from
hyperextension of my knee. The other requires deepening of
the socket to allow tissue to settle without restriction
which is causing bruising and blisters. The interview
process is coming along for CP. It doesn't take much really,
just let them do the talking and see how they respond to
questions and the situation presented. One name in
particular came from 3 sources and the interview went well,
but we have to see what works to
meet insurance requirements and my needs. I've gone through
6 sockets in 1 1/2 years and that is uncommon and Im sure
the insurance company is scratching it's head. Leave it to
me to not fit the norms set but hey, I'm only human :) I'm
off for fittings today and hope you have a peachy Spring
day.
April 7
With much attention RW got the socket design he wanted
allowing room at the base to extend and give me more room
later if needed. I've been singing for a long time, All I
want for Christmas is my two left feet', well today must be
Christmas ! I have my old leg set up so I can use it
to bike ride now that the temp liner was added to fill
space, works for riding but not for walking, and now my new
one that fits nice and snug:)... I don't know how to act
LOLOL... just kidding. I"M THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, APPRECIATIVE
and Smiling ... blessings
April 5
Well the socket has to be redone as there was not enough
room provided at the bottom. I have a lot of padding and
need plenty of room so that the tissue isn't cramped. We've
also started the process of looking for another CP to
accommodate health insurance requirements . DH is more
involved than I thought he would be, he started list of
names before I even digested that I was going to have to
change ! In the long run It might be for the best, one never
knows with change. Surely, skill, experience, temperament
and insurance approval all come into the play but in the
end, the 'Creep' factor is going to also be important.
DD is doing better but we both have come to share a certain
gene it appears when it comes to our unusual high tolerance
for pain. You know something is different when your OS looks
at you when you are walking with 2 joints, bone on bone in
your foot without pain meds doing a kite competition
circuit. That was me in 1999/2000. She pushed hers as well
and it nearly cost her life! She has learned and will be
taking closer care of herself while she recovers from the
attack and prepares for removal of her appendix in 3 months
time. Be good to yourself and share it with others, you may
be their only slice of Springtime... :)
April 2
Went for first walk in months in my new socket I got Friday
and I was excited to say the least. But there is a problem,
already, I needed 10 ply to don the thing to keep from
bottoming out. I don't know what happened and I've not lost
that much weight, trust me, scale doesn't lie. This is
frustrating to put it mildly. I've not been able to do a 5k
let alone a daily walk. feeling rather like charlie brown
right now. AARRRGGGGHHHHHHH !!!
April 1
The DD is home and keeping down solids, her color is
improving and her strength returning ! Now to just get the
infection cleared so they can remove the appendix safely
without risk of damage to her colon. That's why it's not
removed in cases like this until swelling and signs of
infection are cleared up. It causes toughening and adherence
of the organs and complicates the case. Another good note,
I've got my new leg :) I had shrunk so much during the
interim I need 8 ply to don the new leg !! He made a special
adjustment to take up some of that slack. So far so good.
I've had to change the guestbook thanks to spambots who have
abused the system and caused an overload. Instead of
instant posting comments now you'll have to send them to me
for a while till I get what I need to stop the spam.
The hummingbirds have hatched and are so very adorable ! The
funniest glimpse is of them snuggled down in the nest and
you can see their little beaks sticking up !!! too cute !!
Have a great day folks, enjoy Spring, set your clocks back
tonight and give a smile to someone today. You may be their
only glimpse of Sunshine today ! winkers
March 27
Our DD is still in the hospital being treated for perforated appendicitis.
The meds seem to be working but it's still early to tell.
I'm in 25/27 ply waiting for my leg to be finished. I've
stopped the rides until the new leg is ready as this one is
too painful and big to do so any longer. We'll see what
today brings and how DD is doing and when she can come home.
Special diet and heavy meds until she is well enough to
bring back in and remove her appendix. see ya in the funny
papers
March 22
Changed the clips and pedals out on the exercise bike,
riding daily and keeping up with scheduling. The next
fitting will be the 31st if all goes well :) We are also in
the process of researching the change over to another CPO. I
can risk shrinking out of this one before I've got someone
lined up to step in for RW. I hate this change
especially but RW will be taking care of me through out the
remainder of this prosthesis including all adjustments
afterwards. The hummingbird is tending her nest and we
are waiting anxiously for the arrival of her fledge lings.
As I type DH and Brandi are out hunting wabbits :) She is
quite a huntress and follows the catch and release rule. No
kidding! DD is sleeping and come slowly to the reality of
suffering celiac and all that entails for her. Time to ride
... blessings
March 16
The test socket fit like a glove after some adjustment and
it was off to the fabricator to make the needed pieces. Life
seems hectic but it's only because I don't sit still very
long. I'm in 23-25 ply with this system and I can put in a
very full day and do so on a regular basis. Big difference
compared to what I went through with the pinlock and seal in
liners. Everyone is different and those did not work for me.
Only way to know it trial and error and this WORKS. Good
News...The mother hummingbird who has nested on our patio is
tending her 2 eggs closely and doesn't leave in a bolt when
we exit the back door. She tucked down in her nest during
the last big storm but we made sure we had her well
protected under the overhang so the nest is out of the rain
:) I love watching her knowing what lays beneath her tiny
feathered frame. My winter cactus is happy with the cold
snap and preparing to bloom again but it is winter still
after all :) Brandi is doing wonderful chasing rabbits
everyday on her walks and coming close to catching a few of
them. DH is doing all he can to keep up with her. LOL I'm
still riding daily and extending my endurance and strength.
Small changes make big steps :) keep believing
March 6
Wow, where did the time go? I've been busy riding everyday,
taking care of taxes and everyday needs. I'm in 22/23 ply
and just had a cast taken today to have a new socket and
liner fabricated. With the amount of socks I've shrunk 1
inch all around. It makes for a very tight fit with
all those socks to make up the difference. It appears with
the insurance and my current CPO that my cost will raise to
6-8k per socket and liner. That would be at a cost of 20%
below Medicare too. That would mean I would have to come up
with 6-8k every 3 months or so as I keep shrinking and
losing weight. There is going to have to be some shopping
for a new CPO at any rate. No, I'm not happy about it but
I've got little choice. I'm glad we at least got me into a
prosthesis that works in the long run not just when it's
first fitted. Though it's so large my Chiro has commented
that this socket and liner style above all has given my back
and hip the least amount of trouble ! That is a big
bonus coupled with my energy increase and length of being
able to wear this prosthetic system. Big improvement though I am
unable
to do a 5k. Maybe I'm not meant to who knows. I'm
remaining flexible I think
its best. I'll let you know how the test socket goes :)
blessings
Feb 19
I'm riding 1hr a day, losing weight and getting a lot done.
I have better energy reserves after having omitted the 1 hr
walk. I'm in 20/23 ply (1 inch all around) and the walk was
taking too much out of me to keep it in the workout program.
I'll work them in again later but for now it's best to leave
it. My neck adjustment went much easier and I believe that's
also from backing off the walks. DH is off for the holiday,
DD is working hard and as for the insurance issues... Our
meds co pay just doubled in cost and I'll be on the phone
Tues. to find out what the change is and why. Normally the
co pay is 10-20 bucks per script and yesterday it was 20-40
!! I also got the billing on my last leg conversion and set
up and I'm facing paying 40% of 10k per socket/liner change.
I go through a socket due to shrinkage every 2-3 months
which means its going to be about 3-4k per leg change out of
pocket. Talk about a catch 22 !! It's in my best
interest to continue to lose weight yet the cost is going to
make it very difficult to afford. Well one hurdle at a time
and keeping focused on track gets the job done. I'll let you
know how the insurance continues to shake down. I'm waiting
to see if we still have coverage with RW after the contract
ends. They may dump PPO too. We'll see. In the meantime,
stay warm, keep safe and dream happy. blessings
Feb 12
With the transitions worked through and strength and trust
returning in the device I'm able to walk and ride with some
consistency. I still deal with energy challenges and old
injuries but don't let that detour me from my aim. I just
work with and around them if need be. I'm waiting to hear on
when I have my next cast made for a new socket/liner. Im in
21 ply of socks and Im feeling rather packed at this point
in my pros. It's taken a great deal of trial and error to
get to this point but I believe we have finally found
the right system that works for my legs needs. A new show
I've come across on Discovery Health Channel is called
'Rebuilt' dealing with people and prosthetic needs. Very
informative. blessings :)
Feb 3
I've had a great deal of transitioning to deal with of late.
Going from one prosthetic system to another, no leg for 2
months to wearing one again, injuring my back and
recuperating all the while trying to learn to walk and
adjust to the new system. The new custom silicone liner
along with the silicone outer sleeve that forms the suction
is the socket design that works the best for my situation.
I'm in 18-20ply of socks which means it's time to cast for a
new socket and liner to be fabricated. If we can get
corrected the one spot that gets irritated and blisters and
has made regular bike rides impossible it would be great. I
ride one day maybe two then blister and have to wait for the
skin to completely cleared up before I can ride again.
Ointment and Silicone gel is not helping. We have been
narrowing down the root cause and small adjustments were
made to the socket today. I did a 1/2 hr ride today and
there is irritation, no blisters though :) I'm not pushing
my goals right now as not to get discouraged having to
accept the setbacks of re injury and being without a
properly fitted prosthesis. I'm back up to 1.25 miles
walking, and can still ride an hour on the bike, though not
on a daily basis just yet. Time and small adjustments. As
for the insurance: we're waiting to find out what will be
the final negotiated contract and whether my CPO will take
my insurance. I won't know more until after March when the
initial contract is expired. Payment will go up to 60/40
plus deductible IF he does take my insurance. In the
meantime my eye is still on the sparrow and I'm reaching for
the Stars... blessings
Jan 29
It's going to be a lovely day... I woke up :) I had a great
walk with the family yesterday. I so love watching my dog
hunt ! She's so quick and alert and springs into action
before you know what she spotted. It's a joy to see the
animal in her reemerge. Yes, indeed she inspires me to find
the little things and go forward, not fret or be tied to the
past. Dogs live in the moment and its a great place to be.
PRESENT :) blessings
Jan 26
Blue Cross has gone and
dropped rates so low... I'm facing losing my CPO !!!! with the PPO rates I can't
afford to keep him at a 60/40 cost of coverage. Im so pissed I think I could
SPIT NAILS !!!!!! Ok, so I'm sitting in my
dining room looking out the window eating my lunch
yesterday. Discerning the ocean tide come and go, and saying ... I don't get
it. what am I to do with this. How do I manage
this one. screw being strong, someone fix what someone
else screwed up for me !!! where is paula jean brown when
this happens? I just want to reach out and shake her
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dang drunk drivers
so as I sat I watched a small
bird on the wire outside the window, I think, ok, what am
I to learn from this, what's the lesson. As I watch the
bird relieve itself... I think , great ' life is going to
unload on you, just be sure to not look up with your mouth
open...(smiles) I then said to myself, come on, and just watched
the bird and began thinking how the bird doesn't know
where it's next meal is going to come from (today was
provided in my
yard) or it's shelter tonight... but it gets up and keeps
going. I need to trust that what I need is going to be
provided,, I know it's going to take hard
research and sacrifice on my part, but just the same, it
will be resolved. sigh Time to get moving and take a walk
with my pup. :) Yes, of coarse I'm frustrated but life is
still GOOD and I've got some living to do ... blessings
